Catch funding problems in your ILR before the return closes.

The ILR Health Check reads the ILR you are about to submit and checks every apprenticeship against the funding rules: eligibility, duration, off-the-job hours, endings, prices and employer charges. Each flag tells you what is wrong, what it could cost and how to put it right. Run the sample file below, then click a flag.

  • A cost on every flag

See what each problem could cost: funding already paid that could be clawed back, funding still to come, payments held until a record is fixed, and anything owed back to an employer.

  • Know your deadline

Every flag shows the return you can still fix it in, and warns you when a year has closed and it can no longer be corrected.

  • The rules for the right year

Each apprentice is checked against the funding rules for the year they started, with the paragraph every flag comes from.

  • Your file stays with you

The ILR is read in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so learner data never leaves your computer.

What gets checked

  • Reading 21 learners and their apprenticeship aims
  • Validating against the 2026/27 ILR schema
  • Eligibility: age, employment at start, standards open for starts
  • Programme design: duration and off-the-job hours
  • Endings, overstayers and learners missing since last month
  • Prices, funding bands and employer charges
